Groote Catch-Up

Hi All!
Thought i better do some blogging for the last couple of months and let everyone know what we are up to. It has been a busy term so far. Neave and I went to Brissie for a couple of weeks and had a great time shopping and catching up with friends and family. Marcel came for a few days. Pics below are from a family picnic.

Two weeks after we got home my Mum got really sick and Neave and I went back again for a couple of weeks to help her recuperate. It was a nice time even though Mum was very unwell. She was doing much better when we left. Since we got back a couple of weeks ago I have been working non stop. There are heaps of teachers away on various conferences at the moment. Marcel has spent the last 4 days at the National Middle School conference on the Gold Coast which was really good.

It is nice for us all to be back home together again. Below are a few pics of a walk we took on the beach recently, Marcel never goes anywhere without the fishing rod!

We had great plans for going overseas in the next holidays but they have been put to rest for a while. Instead we are going to spend a week in Sydney and a week in the Blue Mountains and have a really really cold holiday! Quite looking forward to that!
Don't think there is anything else i need to say at this stage. Love to everyone :)

4wd Update!

After the success of the last 4wd trip the boys decided to head out again. They went last Friday night, yes night! 7pm to be exact. Us girls stayed home. They got bogged at 9pm and had dug themselves out by 5am, thats the next morning. Yes 8 hours through the night of digging. Us girls felt totally justified staying home. They started fishing that morning. Marcl bought plenty of fish home and Jon caught this huge crab, very yummy. They got home Sat afternoon, totally exhausted! The car was completely filthy inside and out. Marcel used his jack but it broke on the first go. So much for buying a expensive jack from a 4wd store. He also wrecked the spare tyre that was somehow involved in jacking up the car. But the fish tasted good so we shouldn't complain.

Adventures on Groot

Well this is the beginning of the Bruyn Blog. Getting sick of having to send everyone photos all the time so this way you can check out what is happening in our neck of the woods.

We spent Christmas in NZ and Tassie, catching up with family and doing a few touristy things. It was great and Neave was a trooper on the 9 plane trips in 6 weeks! We got to see our new nephew, Charlie, in Tassie and our nephew Xavier as well!

The famous Richmond bridge (really old).

Most of you have seen the photos from our wild 4wd trip but will put them up here as well.
We are having a great time in the NT, better than expected! We miss family and friends but catching up every 10 weeks isnt bad.
We got pretty bogged as you can see by the photo. I would like to point out that Marcel was driving. Been catching some big fish.
On the weekend the sharks were bi
ting the fish
off the rods!

We have just bought a block of land in Redland Bay to build a house on which is exciting. Planning to go overseas in June, not sure where yet. We were going to head to Europe but not sure i could handle Neave on a plane for that long. We will probably go to Thailand or somewhere closer.

Well that's it from us for now. Will keep posting photos up here and info to keep you up to date. Looking foward to catching up with Brissie mates at Easter.
